Me and my cousins, (Illustration Friday week 3, Unbalanced)

So,

I started drawing Girls with birds on their heads earlier this year! So, the birds represent thoughts. And this is sort of a representative of how thoughts can overpower, and unbalance you. She's tipping over. It's a big bird.

Also, colors are really off, due to poor lighting. May repost with better light later. This is all due to lack of scanner.

Thoughts? Comments? : D

Vroom Vroom (Illustration Friday week 2, Blur!)

Do you remember that feeling of sitting in a box, when you were little, only five or so, and feeling like you were going so fast that you were just a blur?

This is one of my characters, originally based off of Red Riding Hood, who finds an old red Motorbike helmet, and thinks that riding in a box with it would be the coolest thing in the world... This is before she builds herself a functioning box car racer (At seven). Here, she's five and is speeding off into the wild blue yonder in her head. : )

Flightless Bird (Illustration Friday, Week 1, Skinny!)

So, what started out as an assignment that I wasn't wholly excited about, turned into something really personal, and sweet. My initial thoughts: 'What's skinny? ... My legs are skinny. Oh, you know what's skinnier than that? Bird legs.' And so we got a skinny boy/girl, in a skinny forest, with skinny-legged birds.

I can relate to the person, I'm not sure if it's a boy or a girl, in my opinion they look like they're just watching, and waiting, seeing what the tall ones will say, in response to their question...

Enjoy?
